When you have written your article you’ve done the hard part. However, if you want to make the most of the effort you’ve put forth - you will have to market it.For the greatest possible leverage I recommend the services of the Article Marketer company. They will send your story to over 2,000 publishers. You should check them out.In addition, here are five things you can do with the articles you’ve written and posted on our site - and others who directly reach your audience. The results can be amazing.
Â
- Link To Your Article!
This is the most obvious and easiest strategy. Unless you already copied the link to your story when you posted it, simply use the search box. Put in your name and/or the title of your article to locate your submissions.Copy the links into your browser and test them. You want to make sure they work before you put them on your web site.Â
Then create an “anchor text” link to the story and put the link wherever it makes the most sense on your site. For example if the story provides an example of one of your services, put the link on the page where your service is being described. The link, in addition to the search engine benefits, must have a benefit to the people on your web site.
Adding a link to your key articles posted on our highly relevant web site in areas that help your web site visitors is simple and beneficial.
- Put Your Article in More Than One Category!
People who visit our site, unless brought there by a particular article they found via a search engine, typically search for whatever they are looking for - by searching the category they believe the information they’re seeking will be found in.When authors take the time, and many do, to place their articles in two or three categories that are logical - if secondary, places where people might look, they get lots more traffic.Â
All you have to do is log in to the blog. If you can’t remember your password, maybe because your articles we submitted to us automatically by an article syndication service, simply request that a new password be sent to the email address you used for submitting your articles to us or the article marketer in the first place.
Once you are logged in click on your article and at the bottom of it you’ll see the blue ‘edit’ link. When the editing pane is open you’ll see the categories listed on the right hand side of the page. Check and/or un-check them until you have the ones you think best fit your article. Then re-publish the article. That’s it.
The whole process - adding relevant categories to previous posts, will take only a few minutes. Now that you have your log in information handy post whatever additional articles you want, spacing them out days, weeks, or months into the future.
For those of us who want our marketing to generate new business - not clicks taking prospects away from us for a few cents, why should we put Google AdSense code on our web sites? There are a couple of vital reasons. Listen for them!
- Send A Link To Those You Respect!
Nothing is more important than our reputation. This is especially true when we are trying to connect with strangers via the Internet. One of the most powerful reputation building strategies, for getting the attention of both people and search engines - is a legitimate endorsement by someone they trust. That trust rubs off on you.Â
When it comes to using your articles to help in this process, the number one way to build your reputation is to have organizations and individuals of high standing link to your articles from their web site.
For the articles you’ve already written, select one whose content is likely to be timeless and one that will be a ‘natural’ for the web site of someone whose opinions are trusted by your ideal clients and someone who wants to help you.
Then create an anchor text link and email it to them - asking them to link to it and suggesting where the link would be a natural fit for you both. You may have to send it more than once and you may have to remind them to have the link added to their site. But whatever you have to do, just do it.
Once it’s there it may be there forever, so a little work getting it done can pay benefits for a long long time.
- Ask Others To Post Comments On Your Articles!
One of the most obvious benefits of using a blog for publishing articles is how simple and immediate it is. Another benefit is its interactivity.Select an article or two and send a link along to a customer, contemporary, or center of influence and ask them to add a comment to what you said in your story. Maybe that will be a personal recommendation, maybe a thumbnail of their experience with you or the product.Â
As long as it is on point and legitimate their comments will add weight to your article for those folks searching for an answer you are uniquely qualified to provide.
Imagine, twenty or so articles, each with comments from two or three individuals and all containing your contact information. If these automated advocates are also linked to from a couple of people your customers and prospects respect, listed in several categories, and optimized for the search engines - they will bring new prospects to your web site.
- SEO Optimization Of Your Articles!
Search engine optimization for your blog articles will help them get listed and ranked by the search engines. This is the icing on the cake. When you do everything else AND you have optimized each article - your results will be even better! When editing a previously posted article you’ll see a box where you can add ‘title’ tags, another where you can add META tags, and another for keywords. When the article is re-published these things are updated automatically.Â
And when submitting a new story the boxes are there as well - so each future post will be optimized from the start.
When it comes to SEO there are lots of myths and wild ideas. My approach was modeled after my grandmother’s favorite saying. “It may not help, but it can’t hurt.” That keeps me from obsessing on something like this, just doing the best I can and forgetting about it.
By the way, there are other elements for those with extremely advanced knowledge of blog post editing located between where you post/edit your article and the SEO program at the bottom of the page. Please do not use these areas.
Taken together these strategies will help you maximize the value of the time you are spending creating quality articles.
Each article you write is a tireless promoter of you, your unique offerings, and can be responsible for connecting you with your specific target audience. If it is going to work for you 24/7/365 shouldn’t you provide it with the jump start it needs to be most effective?A single article, one example, your signature story - published on our site and then promoted by you using these five simple strategies can provide greater results than two dozen stories you just throw randomly onto the Internet.Combining this hands-on treatment of a few selected articles, stories, and how-to descriptions - along with the global syndication of all of your submissions via the Article Marketer service, can change your business life!
