If you are familiar with the Google Adsense program you will know how much money can be made through it. If you are not, let me give you a quick run down.

Google Adsense is a program launched by Google where publishers, another word for site owners, can display Google ads on their site in exchange for a share of the cost of the ad.
In other words, the advertiser pays Google to place ads on its search engine and on its partners sites. Google then places the ads on sites such as yours and shares the money the advertiser pays them. Since Google uses a pay per click system you will only be paid when a visitor clicks on one of the ads shown on your site.

Google uses its technology to ensure that the theme of the ads match the content of your site. After all you want your visitors to click on the ads, and they will only click on the ads that interest them.

By having ads that closely match the content of your site you can see high conversion ratios. While the industry average is one click per every 100 ads shown, some publishers have managed to obtain a 20% conversion ratio. It all depends on how interested your visitors are on the subject your site covers, and on the placement of the ads on your site.

You select where to place the ads on your site. You can also place up to three sets of ads on each page, which gives you more opportunities to have a visitor click on one of your ads.

Most website owners that participate in the Google Adsense program agree that the ads should not stand out from the rest of the site. People do not want to click on ads, so you need to make sure to lay out the ads in a way that people will see them as a natural extension of the site.

One strategy used to accomplish this is to place the ads below a picture, or even within an article break. Users will then see the ads as an integral part of your site.

How much can you earn through Google Adsense?

Before I answer that think of the following. You are already receiving traffic, so why not add an extra source of revenue that costs you nothing?

From what I have read online, and from my own experiences, I can tell you that it is possible to earn anywhere from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars per month.
